My flyer follower Mika Pyörälä, 40, said in an interview with C More that he had ended his extensive playing career.
The season for Pyörälä and Kärppi ended on Wednesday, when Ilves won the 2–1 reading in the seventh match of the semifinals between the teams.
– Didn’t everyone see what kind of eruption came on the ice. This is probably for me here, Pyörälä said after the Ilves match.
C Moren’s commentator Jani Alkio further asked if the back door would remain open for return.
– So small that I can’t fit it, Pyörälä replied.
The bike is one of the absolute disc legends. In his career, Pyörälä won as many as five Finnish championships.
The World Cup gold medal as well as two World Championship silver and one World Championship bronze can also be found in the prize cabinet.
In Finland, Pyörälä represented only Kärppi. Pyörälä also played in Timrå IK, Frölunda and Luleå in Sweden. In his career, Pyörälä also represented Amur Khabarovsk and the Swiss SC Bern.
The bike also played 36 regular season matches in the NHL with a 2 + 2 power in the Philadelphia Flyers shirt.
Kontiola decided
Petri Kontiola finally became the hero of Ilves, who scored a 2-1 victory in the first qualifying round. Ilves advanced to the semifinals of the Finnish Championship after a 21-year break.
