“My cousin is killing my family”: four dead, including two children, after stabbing in New York | Abroad

In Queens, one of the five boroughs of New York City, four people died after a stabbing, including two children aged 11 and 12. Another three people were injured. Police found the victims in a burned-out house on Sunday morning.

Around 5:10 a.m. local time (11:10 a.m. Belgian time), emergency services received a call from a “young woman who said her cousin was killing her family.” Police said during a press conference on Sunday. Officers on the scene saw a man left the house with a bag. When they tried to talk to him, he stabbed one of them in the neck and chest. The second was stabbed in the head. They were able to identify the suspect, believed to be 39-year-old Courtney Gordon, shooting. Gordon was taken to hospital, but did not survive.

Police found an 11-year-old girl at the front of the house. She was also taken to hospital, but later died from her injuries. In the burned house, the fire brigade found the bodies of a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman and a man in his 30s. A 61-year-old woman was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds.

According to police, all victims died as a result of the stab wounds. They found a kitchen knife at the crime scene. The suspect was previously arrested for domestic violence in the Bronx, another borough of New York. He was said to have been visiting his family in Queens. The investigation into what exactly happened is still ongoing, police said. The person who contacted emergency services has already been questioned.
