André Hazes jr. cannot agree with the criticism of people like Luuk Ikink, Patty Brard and Yvonne Coldeweijer who state that his comeback is not a resounding success. “It’s going very well!”
The comeback of André Hazes Jr. is probably not the success he had hoped for. According to Patty Brard, his single Deel Van Mij is hardly streamed, Yvonne Coldeweijer points to the poor ticket sales of his Ahoy concert and Luuk Ikink says: “If you see how well Suzan & Freek and Acda & De Munnink are selling, then this is disappointing .”
“All k*t!”
André now responds to that criticism in, how could it be otherwise, Frank Dane’s afternoon show Radio 538. “How are things with Ahoy?” the presenter asks him.
The singer then: “Yes, fine, that’s going well. Yes, look, I’m a boy… Because it’s going on: ‘Comeback, everyone f*t!’ Guys, we’re just selling really neat. If it were up to me it would also have sold out within an hour, but that’s just not the reality somewhere, right? I’m just really thankful for where we are right now.”
Folk singer
Critics think that André’s concert sells so badly partly because he has called for no longer wanting to sing folk music, because he thinks it’s ‘oldies music’. But what will he sing in Ahoy later? After all, apart from his new single, he has no repertoire that does not fall under folk music.
André now says that he will sing folk music again: “New and old. Everything just. Of course I will always do a block to honor my father. That is also what I owe everything to. Everything just passes.”
Gavin and Moon
His new single Share of Me was under fire because it is half a copy of a Gavin DeGraw hit. What about that now? “I don’t think so, right? I still have no claim, no lawsuit. So that’s nice.”
On to Monique Westenberg: is the report from Privé correct that they are getting married? “Yeah, right guys,” he says jokingly.
André has already asked Monique to marry him. Does that have to be done again? “I’m really not going to get another ring like that. haha. Then I have to work first. I don’t know if it’s broken.”
On holiday
That engagement will probably just have to be repeated, says André. “Yes, I think every woman wants that.”
It could just happen next week. “I’m going on vacation tomorrow (today, ed.). I’ve been working for a week already, so yes. haha. I’m going to Vegas with Moon. The little one too, yes.”
