My brother touchingly remembered Petra Piipari at the Radio Gala: “One day my mother called”

The late Petra Piipar’s brother gave a memorial speech at the Radio Gala.

Petra Piipari, who died suddenly last April, was remembered touchingly at the Radio Gala. Piipari, who died at the age of 49, worked as a program manager for Hitmix and Loop.

The memorial speech was given by Piipari’s brother Patrik Johansson.

– It is a big deal for our family to be here, Johansson said.

– Petra was a mother, daughter and sister to us. Maybe this (gala) will open up that side of Petra that was not always visible to us.

Petra Piipari had a long career in the radio world. PDO

Veli recalled the beginning of Piipar’s journalism studies.

– He found something that he had probably always been looking for. Something he wanted to be good at, something he had a drive for. From the way he talked about work and colleagues, you could see that there was a fire inside him. I thought that fire would never go out.

– One day my mother called that the fire had gone out, Johansson said with a trembling voice.

The brother told how nervous he is to speak in front of strangers. He recalled his sister’s 30th birthday party, when he spoke in front of a large audience.

– I asked Petra on stage. I said Petra, I love you. Today I’m on stage again in front of strangers. I would like to say that Petra, we love you.
