MVV fights back to a draw against Young PSV | 1Limburg

MVV has won a 2-2 draw against Jong PSV. After more than fifteen minutes, the Eindhoven team was leading 2-0, but in the last fifteen minutes MVV came alongside.

For a long time it looked as if MVV was going to suffer a hopeless defeat against the promises of PSV. But the fighting spirit that MVV has shown in recent weeks was rewarded this time in the final phase with a result in a difficult away game.

Productive
The difference in the first part of the match was that the first two shots on goal at Jong PSV were immediately hit. MVV also had two good chances via Sven Blummel and Toshio Lake. However, scoring for MVV remains a difficult matter this season. Only the last player Helmond Sport scored even fewer goals in the Kitchen Champion Division.

Early backlog
In the third minute, Romain Matthys had to fish the ball out of the net. From the first corner of the game, defender Jenson Seel headed the ball into the goal. In the 16th minute Matthys had to fish again after Richard Ledezma was beautifully cleared and then face to face with Matthys delicately lifted the ball over the keeper. Earlier this week there was good news for MVV and Matthys after it was announced that the popular goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third year.

Driven
MVV started the second half driven and seemed to be able to create more danger. Just like in the second part of the first half, PSV lowered itself a bit more, making it seem as if MVV was getting more grip on the game. But this also created more space in the transition, so that the most dangerous moments still came from the promises of PSV.

Connection
After an hour of play, the game seemed to have been played for a long time as nothing happened for a long time. But in the 75th minute the tension suddenly returned. Lake showed the Eindhoven defense its heels with a good action. His tight pass was promoted to an own goal via Nigel Thomas and so MVV could hope for a result out of the blue.

equalizer
No one at the Herdgang had expected until that 75th minute that there would still be a tie on the scoreboard. In the 81st minute this was the case. Orhan Džepar’s shot hit the inside of the post, but substitute Arian Kastrati headed in the rebound to make it 2-2. In the last minutes, MVV even went looking for the victory. That didn’t create any great opportunities. Nevertheless, the people of Maastricht will look back with satisfaction on a hard-fought division of points.

This Friday, MVV will play the last home match of the season against Jong Ajax. This match can be followed on L1 Radio from 20:00.
