The former national basketball coach Emir Mutapcic is returning to FC Bayern after three years and will be the sports director of the youth program at the cup winners. The German-Bosnian was last in charge of the Hungarian first division club Zalakeramia KK.
“In Muki, a familiar face is returning to Munich. There are many tasks waiting for him and he is hungry to tackle them. We are very happy that he has decided to lead this new phase of our program,” said Munich’s sporting director Daniele Baiesi.
Mutapcic (63), who was responsible for the German national team in the 2014 European Championship qualifier, had worked as an assistant coach at Bayern until 2020. Alba Berlin led Mutapcic to three championship titles and two cup wins.
