Noorderzijlvest, Hunze en Aa’s, Drents Overijsselse Delta and Vechtstromen report a decrease in the number of captive muskrats of more than a quarter: 27%. Over the years, far fewer rats have been caught in the entire area of these water boards. In 2011, there were still more than 65,000, last year 9,254.
