So far, the 24-year-old Brit has two albums out – WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE CAR? (2017) and ZEROS (2020). So it’s time for a new record. But also for new tour dates. And the child prodigy, who is said to have written his first hit at the age of 15, can now serve with them. Declan McKenna is coming to Germany in April 2024. The start will be on April 21st in the Cologne canteen, it will continue on April 22nd in the Hamburg club Uebel & Gefährlich and the finale will take place in the Berlin Astra. We presented all three shows.

More about Declan McKenna
While his friends were still at school, the then 16-year-old McKenna won the Glastonbury Festival’s “Emerging Talents” competition. Artists who have already found their own sound at this age are rare. McKenna plays a dreamy indie pop that knows how to surprise, especially in contrast to the sophisticated content of his music.
Instead of raving about true love in meaningless pop songs like so many of his colleagues, McKenna made it clear right at the beginning of his career – there is something to be said here. The first single “Brazil” criticized the questionable circumstances of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and brought the then 16-year-old a lot of attention. On ZEROS, McKenna increasingly became the social commentator of his generation and sang about topics such as LGBTQIA+ rights, climate change and the dark side of social media.
