Musician Mark Lanegan, 57, is dead

American musician Mark Lanegan has died this morning, February 22, 2022. The matter is reported on his own Twitter account.

– Our beloved friend Mark Lanegan has died this morning at his home in Killarney, Ireland. Beloved singer, songwriter, author and musician. He was 57 years old and will be missed by his wife Shelley. No other information is currently available. We ask that you respect the privacy of your family.

Lanegan fans were shocked by the news.

– I’m so sorry to read this. I love Mark and his work. They mean a lot to me and others, one fan said on Twitter.

Lanegan is remembered as a solo singer, along with the bands Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age. Lanegan worked with many well-known musicians. Among other things, Nirvana’s late singer-guitarist Kurt Cobain visited his solo album as guitarist.

Lanegan also became known as a good friend of Cobain and Layne Staley. The trio represented Grunge, the music style that landed in Seattle, USA. Cobain died in 1994 and Staley in 2002.
