The role of Kruimeltje is played by Max Roest, Luca van Ammers, Shayne Bakker and Aiden Joshua Maij. Producer Rick Engelkes, who played the role of Kruimeltjes father in the film in 1999, can also be seen in the play. “Kruimeltje’s performance is in everyone’s heart, and certainly in my heart,” Engelkes said. “Kruimeltje is the nice little rascal in the Netherlands and it’s nice to make another beautiful performance about him.”
The musicals of crumb are based on the book adaptation of the same name from 1999. In 2020 it was already announced that Kruimeltje would return to the theater again. However, due to the corona crisis, the start was postponed.
