The victim taught the first grade at the municipal free primary school De Graangranul in Wervik. “This horrific event comes as a shock to all of us and we regret the loss of our colleague. We will remember her as a treasure of a teacher and colleague.” The school has opened an online mourning register.
The victim’s ex is a teacher at the VTI in Menen. The ex-couple has two teenage children aged 15 and 17. He was arrested last night and confessed this morning that he killed the mother of his children.
The investigating judge has arrested him and he will appear in court on Tuesday. He will then have to decide whether he should stay in jail for another month.
