More than 60,000 teenagers have been vaccinated against coronavirus in Russia, they tolerated the drug well, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said at a meeting of the coordinating council to combat COVID-19. The broadcast was conducted by the TV channel “Russia 24”.
“Vaccination has started across the country today, more than 60,000 of our little patients have been vaccinated. It is more relevant today than ever, and we see that adherence is growing, and the vaccine is well tolerated,” the minister said.
According to Murashko, the proportion of minors among those infected with coronavirus is 17%, of which only 2% are hospitalized.

In Moscow, free vaccination of adolescents against COVID-19 with Sputnik M began on January 31. The drug was also delivered to other regions.
The vaccine was created on the basis of Sputnik V, which adults are vaccinated, but its dosage has been reduced by five times. The drug consists of two components, they must be administered to a teenager with an interval of 21 days.
Adolescents aged 12 to 15 years can only be vaccinated with the consent of their parents or guardians, and those 15 and older – with their own written consent.

The head of the Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, said that in Russia, at least 10 million teenagers should be vaccinated against coronavirus in six months. According to him, no side effects were found after vaccination against coronavirus in adolescents from 12 to 17 years old with the Sputnik M drug.
