The municipality of Maashorst will receive 150 asylum seekers in Zeeland from June 29. A reception location is being made on one of the fields of football association RKSV Festilent. The asylum seekers will stay there for two to three weeks.
Forty temporary housing units are being built on the Zeeland site. Four asylum seekers can be accommodated in each unit. There are also areas for relaxation, catering and sanitary facilities. This is a crisis emergency shelter. After two to three weeks, the asylum seekers can move to a larger reception center, where they can stay longer.
It is the turn of the Brabant-North security region this month to provide emergency emergency shelter for 150 asylum seekers. Various regions will have to arrange reception in the near future to prevent people from having to sleep in chairs in the hallway at the registration center in Ter Apel again.
