Municipality of Groningen receives damage claim of more than 3 tons for former mayor’s house

A grandson of the Jewish couple Serphos-Menko, whose house was robbed and sold on during the Second World War, has submitted a claim for damages worth more than 3 tons to the municipality of Groningen. According to this grandson, Hubert van Blankenstein, everything indicates that the then mayor Jan Tuin had set his sights on the stately building, after which the municipality bought it – at too low a price – as an official residence. This is reported by research program Pointer.
