Municipality comes with flexible housing for 120 Ukrainians in Overloon

The municipality of Land van Cuijk has 48 flexible homes built in Overloon, accommodating 120 Ukrainians. The Ukrainians are still staying in the former asylum seeker center (AZC) on Stevensbeekseweg in Overloon.

According to the municipality, the main building that is currently used is less suitable for long-term shelter. The building also requires extensive maintenance.

That is why the municipality has decided to purchase flexible housing. To start with 48 pieces, possibly another 48 will be added later. The temporary homes will be built on part of the asylum seekers’ center site, where chalets of the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) are still located.

The flexible homes can be installed quickly and are of high quality, according to the municipality. They will last at least 25 years, according to the municipality. In the short term, the land will be prepared for construction on which the houses will be built. They can be put into use at the end of June.
