Municipalities receive 17.5 million for promoting social participation | News item

Minister Schouten (Poverty Policy, Participation and Pensions) is making 17.5 million euros available from the European Social Fund (ESF+) to increase people’s chances of fully participating in society, even if they cannot start work immediately. Municipalities can submit applications from the beginning of April.

For example, projects aimed at budget management or debt assistance, assistance in finding a home, developing a healthy lifestyle, tackling addiction problems and support for status holders in the area of ​​language proficiency.

Central municipalities of the 35 labor market regions can apply for a subsidy until the end of October of this year. These are projects with a maximum duration of two years, in which the European Social Fund bears 40% of the costs and the applicant municipality finances 60%. Within all projects, attention should be paid to promoting equal opportunities and non-discrimination, which is also underlined by the European Commission, the cabinet and the House of Representatives.
