Future-oriented further development at Munich Fabric Start in Munich: With the expansion of the textile range to include the new The Source area, Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH is expanding its trade fair portfolio to include the market-relevant segments of sourcing and finishing, making it a one-stop solution for a holistic fashion sourcing. The new Hall 8 with around 2,500 m2 of exhibition space offers a platform for all-in-one suppliers who present end-to-end solutions from PLV to white label. The new area was fully booked after just a few weeks. “Sustainability, transparency, digitization, nearshoring – the most relevant topics in the fashion industry cannot be tackled individually in one value-adding step, but must be implemented in a contemporary and vertically integrated manner. With The Source, we offer a place for reliable and flexible sourcing solutions and newly conceived value chains,” says Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director of MUNICH FABRIC START.
The MUNICH FABRIC START (August 30 to September 1, 2022) with over 800 exhibitors and 1500 collections on a total exhibition area of now around 45,000 m2 now includes eight areas: Fabrics and Additionals with international material innovations for all clothing segments, Resource and Sustainable Innovations for sustainable innovations, design studios with fabric designs and new developments for prints on a larger area, the innovation hub Keyhouse, Bluezone and the new sourcing area The Source for international, vertical integration.
Time for collaboration: For the upcoming event of the international denim trade show BLUEZONE (August 30th to 31st, 2022), which is again fully booked, the Munich-based company will be working together with the Transformers Foundation from New York for the first time as part of their lecture series in the Keyhouse. A perfect symbiosis to jointly advance the issue of sustainability in the denim industry.
MUNICH FABRIC START is again expecting more than 20,000 trade visitors for the coming seasoninside, including designersinside, product managerinside and buyersinside from the textile, fashion, denim, sports and outdoor industries. They all come to Munich to find out about color and material trends, innovations and current market developments at MUNICH FABRIC START.
Impulsive, provocative, innovative – the color and material trends for autumn/winter 23/24 will be staged at the upcoming MUNICH FABRIC START under the motto “Furor” and curated in inspiring trend forums. The word furore comes from Italian. “Far furore” means to arouse enthusiasm. But literally it means frenzy or anger. The expression describes exactly where society is right now: between enthusiasm and anger. We’re excited about new worlds like the Metaverse, a new sense of community, or innovative biomaterials. Wars, ongoing difficulties in supply chains or unfair production processes make us particularly angry. The trend worlds for autumn/winter 23/24 reflect this in a controversy – from almost invisible to the most striking.
Smart textiles, digital innovations, holistic sustainability and forward-looking process solutions – these will be the topics of the extensive side event program as part of KEYHOUSE, BLUEZONE and the ReSOURCE Area.
The VIEW Premium Selection, the Preview Textile Show at MUNICH FABRIC START, ended successfully on June 22nd. With over 300 pre-collections, it was more international than ever and marked the start of the season for the European premium fabric industry.
