How many times do we see ourselves juggling between work and personal tasks? And how much frustration and tiredness can accompany us throughout the day!

Today I bring this topic that crosses us in our daily lives, in each area where we develop, to think together how effective we are and what are the consequences of becoming heavy multitaskers.

We all know that the fast pace in which we live and the social, organizational and even personal demands “invite” us to get on the speed train, losing focus on what is important and the effectiveness of our actions.

For some time now, the skills most in demand and valued by companies (especially proactivity, initiative or flexibility and adaptability) can encourage multitasking (the ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks in order to achieve goals).

Is it possible to be efficient while staying in multitasking mode?

Science shows us evidence that when our brain constantly switches attention between simultaneous tasks, productivity drops by 40%; also the ability to concentrate and learn decreases when dividing attention; so the chances of making mistakes and the time to complete these tasks increase.

So how can we be flexible and adapt to the demands of the environment while remaining efficient?

we can become Multitasker Light with these 3 strategies:

-Identification and differentiation of important tasks from secondary ones,

-Self-awareness and self-control,

-Focus on the main task while performing other lower order and more automatic tasks

In addition to this, it is extremely important to be able to get out of the automatic state and to be able to develop the capacity for full and conscious attention to what is being done.

For this, science, through various studies and research, also offers evidence on the multiple benefits of meditation and mindfulness practices. The advantages of being more aware are many: greater attention span and concentration; greater empathy and emotional regulation, better response capacity to new situations and concrete health benefits; directly impacting different areas such as:

-work quality

-relationships and links

-personal welfare

How can we train ourselves and obtain these benefits in our lives?

I share one mindfulness practice that you can apply anywhere and anytime: STOP

1.Stop, stop and exit automatic,

2. Take a deep breath,

3. Observe how the body, thoughts and emotions are,

4.Continue with the activity in a more conscious way
