MTV’s seven news broadcasts were delayed by about five minutes on Wednesday.
MTV’s TV News Manager Pertti Nyberg tells Iltalehti that the delay was due to a technical fault.
“We didn’t get the stuff through the system,” says Nyberg.
As the technical fault was repaired MTV asked the Swedish broadcast unit to show trailers on the channel.
The channel made the program rotate for about a minute at seven in the evening. The program lasted about six minutes.
– The new program was no longer broken. The systems started to work almost exactly seven. Maybe a shorter trailer would have been in place, Nyberg laughs.
According to Nyberg, the news broadcast was shortened by about two minutes. For example, the weather broadcast was shortened by half a minute.
Nyberg notes that similar situations are rare.
– We moved to a new house two and a half years ago. There were some problems with the new technology, but it has not happened since then. That is very rare in that sense, Nyberg says.
