MSV Duisburg wins wild game in Meppen

MSV Duisburg has taken a big step towards staying up in the 3rd football league with a double majority.

At SV Meppen, the former Bundesliga side won 2:1 (0:1) against nine players after trailing 1-0 and thus moved eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Orhan Ademi secured the Zebras’ fourth win in the last five games with his late goal (80th), Meppen had been significantly weakened by two dismissals.

The first red card was given to Florian Egerer, who pulled down Alaa Bakir, who had run free (37′). Nevertheless, the hosts took the lead through a hand penalty by Luka Tankulic (45th).

After Bakir equalized (48′), Rene Guder also saw red because he ruthlessly knocked Marvin Knoll off his feet in midfield (53′).
