MSV Duisburg is gaining new hope in the relegation battle of the 3rd football league.
The traditional club defeated Borussia Dortmund II 2-1 (2-0) at the end of the 24th matchday and reduced the gap to the saving bank to four points. Arminia Bielefeld is there after a 0-0 draw against SC Verl.
The veterans Alexander Esswein (12th) and Thomas Pledl (17th) scored the Duisburg goals. Antonios Papadopoulos (75th) shortened the score for the guests. MSV still has ten games left to avoid falling into the regional league.
