Kendrick Lamar’s long-awaited fifth studio album was released last week. MR. MORALE & THE BIG STEPPERS was controversial in the press and among fans, but overall received good reviews almost everywhere. The “Spiegel” spoke of the “king of contradictions”, while the “Zeit” titled him as the “greatest rapper of the present”. For the “Tagesspiegel” the album is already a “highlight of the pop year so far”. And for our Musikexpress author Aida Baghernejad, MR. MORALE & THE BIG STEPPERS “no less than Lamar’s magnum opus – a magnificent, contradictory and at times deeply problematic masterpiece”.
Now there is a date for the CD release of the album. From June 3, 2022, MR. MORALE & THE BIG STEPPERS will be available on CD for EUR 16.99. The CD should also be available in a bundle with a rather simple t-shirt for the album.
Kendrick Lamar on tour in Germany in 2022
After five years of little-to-nothing from the rapper, Kendrick Lamar seems to be rapping again. He’s not only going on a big USA tour, he’s also coming to Europe this fall. In Germany, the Pulitzer Prize winner will play a total of five concerts. Here is an overview of the dates:
- October 11, 2022: Berlin, Mercedes-Benz Arena
- October 13, 2022: Hamburg, Barclays Arena
- October 24, 2022: Stuttgart, Schleyerhalle
- October 30, 2022: Cologne, Lanxess Arena
- October 31, 2022: Frankfurt, Festhalle

A few days ago, Kendrick Lamar released a first music video for a song from MR. MORALE & THE BIG STEPPERS published. In the visually expressive video for “N95”, the professing Christian hovers over water in a pose reminiscent of images of Jesus and raps about false saviours.
