‘Mr. Frank Visser’ viewers have no sympathy for aggressive neighbor

Marcel lives with his two Rottweilers in an apartment in Schiedam. He is awakened early every morning by Fadime’s chickens and says he goes under. In fact: he is on sleeping pills and would even be facing a burnout due to lack of sleep. After he mentions several times in the conversation with Viktor Brand that ‘the chickens can just disappear’ and ‘go away’, he demands that the animals have to go away.

Racist comments

When Viktor goes to talk to Fadime, she tells that it is not her chickens that are a nuisance, but Marcel’s dogs. They go wild when Marcel is at work. She also says that she has taken the necessary measures to accommodate Marcel: she has got rid of her two roosters and she has bought a night coop for the chickens.

However, according to Marcel, that is not enough, because according to him ‘the chickens have taken over the behavior of the roosters’ and they are tumbling away. Fadime also tells that Marcel is threatening her. He is said to have kicked her fence and makes racist remarks such as: “Go back to your own country.” And: “It’s not Turkey here.”

Contact ban neighbors

Nevertheless, Mr. Frank Visser to come to an agreement that both parties can live with. The chickens and dogs are allowed to stay, but Fadime and Marcel must take measures to limit the nuisance. The two are also banned from contact, so that no more quarrels can arise.

Reactions viewers

Viewers fall over Marcel’s aggressive attitude. “What a nasty, aggressive man,” writes one viewer. Another: “The things that man says, you really can’t. You will never solve a problem with that.”
