An unshakeable will to survive

But it wasn’t just the song and her fate that affected many, but how Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski dealt with her fate.

Though the advanced cancer had spread through her body, she touched with phrases like, “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard before you decide to be happy.”

Her motto, never give up: “I have a two percent chance of survival, but two percent is not zero percent.”

In her latest Instagram post on Jan. 11, nearly eight months after her performance aired on America’s Got Talent, the singer wrote, “Honestly, everything’s been pretty brutal lately. But this is a photo of me from last week feeling pretty and alive and awake and human and real. That is what I needed. We’re all a little lost and it’s okay.”
