Move to FC Bayern? More details about Jonathan Tah

It is rumored that FC Bayern is targeting a player from their current closest rival, Bayer Leverkusen: Jonathan Tah. Will the Werkself defender even move to Munich in the winter? A report from “Sky” now classifies the previous speculations.

The last matchday of the Bundesliga this year is already history, the winter transfer window opens in just over a week, so time for the obligatory rumor mill. In this seething environment, it is hardly surprising that there are already reports about which players FC Bayern want to get rid of from league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, as the Werkself have overtaken the Munich team in the last few weeks and months.

After there was recent speculation about Bayer coach Xabi Alonso’s commitment to the record champions, “Bild” and “kicker” linked defender Jonathan Tah with the southern Germans at the end of this week.

The national player, who is going from success to success with Leverkusen, is “in focus” at FCB, the tabloid said. The trade magazine added that Tah has an exit clause in his contract, which actually runs until 2025.

Will the 27-year-old central defender, who can also play right-back, possibly even move to Bayern in the winter, as they are tormented by a personnel shortage? According to the TV channel “Sky”, this will not happen.

On the one hand, the exit clause in question only applies to the summer of 2024; Tah does not yet have one in the winter. On the other hand, the DFB kicker is urgently needed by the league leaders, because Edmond Tapsoba and Odilon Kossounou will soon (for the time being) no longer be available to Coach Alonso due to the upcoming Africa Cup.

Tah: Bayer instead of FC Bayern – at least for now

Thirdly, Tah is “very happy” at Bayer, where he is a regular player, and is not thinking about a change. Only “something crazy” could change the situation in winter. In the summer, however, the situation could look completely different, simply because, according to “kicker” information, Tah would be available for the manageable sum of 18 million euros.

According to “Bild”, there is currently no contact between the Munich team and the Tah side (yet).

In addition to the German series champions, Chelsea FC, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC are also said to be interested in Tah.
