Mourning in the Fondriest house: Cornelio, father of Maurizio and Francesco, has died

To support the great passion of his sons Maurizio and Francesco for cycling, he had relaunched, with his friend Francesco Renzi, the historic company Anaune. Cornelio Fondriest passed away this afternoon and the news was given by his children through social media. Maurizio, world champion in Renaix 1988 (Cornelio was among the first to hug him after the triumph) and king of Sanremo 1993, wrote: “Have a good last trip dad. Thank you. You’ll always be in my heart…”. Francesco chose an image of his father on the tractor in the family business by writing: “Hi Dad, have a good trip.
