Moulin Rouge stops with notorious snake act in water tank after massive protest | Abroad

The world-famous Parisian club Moulin Rouge stops with the infamous snake act after massive protests from animal groups and enthusiasts. The animals were put in a water tank, after which dancers swam around the animals.

There was a lot of commotion among animal organizations about the snake act in the Moulin Rouge, located on the Parisian Boulevard de Clichy. The animals, protected pythons from India, tried in vain to get out of the water tank during the act. To prevent them from biting, the animals had tape over their mouths. Other body parts were also taped so that their faeces would not end up in the water.

Animal organizations expressed their displeasure on social media and protested in front of the Paris theater. They demanded that Moulin Rouge stop the act, but Moulin Rouge bosses thought otherwise. “We don’t abuse animals,” it said in ‘Le Parisien’ last week.

The activists were not satisfied with the answer and went to the city hall of Paris. In the end, Moulin Rouge decided to stop the act immediately.
