Moukoko loan because of filling jug? That’s what the advisor says

Youssoufa Moukoko’s chances of playing at Borussia Dortmund have worsened with the signing of Niclas Füllkrug. According to his advisor, however, the youngster wants to face the competitive pressure at BVB.

“Of course we talked to BVB about the current situation. However, a loan shortly before the end of the transfer is out of the question for us,” said Patrick Williams in an interview with “Sport1” on Thursday.

Rather, for the 18-year-old, it is about continuing on the path he has taken. “Youssoufa wants to take on the competition and assert himself in Dortmund. We all thought about it eight months ago when we extended our contract with BVB. We’re not throwing the plan overboard now,” continued the Wasserman Group’s player advisor away.

The fact that another competitor, Niclas Füllkrug, was introduced to the Revierklub on Thursday obviously doesn’t play a role in the attacker’s considerations.

Moukoko knew about BVB plans

Because according to “Sport1” information, Moukoko was informed early on about the plans of sports director Sebastian Kehl. The offensive jewel was informed weeks ago that another backup striker would come. Moukoko therefore had enough time to come to terms with the situation.

At least for a short time, a possible loan for the national player was still in the room. The “Deichstube” had speculated during the Füllkrug negotiations that Werder could loan Moukoko for a season in return. According to “Sport1”, such a loan scenario would have been conceivable for BVB – but not for Moukoko.

Füllkrug finally signed a contract with BVB until 2026 on Thursday evening. Allegedly, the black and yellow cost the top scorer last season around 15 million euros.

BVB has been looking for a replacement for Sébastien Haller for a long time, as the Ivorian will be out next spring due to participation in the Africa Cup.
