Youssoufa Moukoko has been linked with a move due to his substitute role at Borussia Dortmund. FC Barcelona is said to have the BVB youngster on the list as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski.
Youssoufa Moukoko is currently in a difficult position at Borussia Dortmund. Niclas Füllkrug and Sébastien Haller are currently ahead of the 18-year-old in the internal BVB hierarchy. Because of this, the U21 national player usually only makes short appearances for the German runner-up.
Because of this situation, the transfer rumors are gaining momentum these days. The Spanish portal “fichajes.net” now reports that FC Barcelona is keeping an eye on the youngster. As a result, Moukoko could succeed Robert Lewandowski in the future. The 35-year-old former Bayern star still has a contract with the Spanish champions until 2026.
Moukoko’s working paper at BVB is dated just as long ago. According to “Bild”, the striker wants to “leave Westphalia very quickly” in the winter. This is now “an open secret,” the tabloid recently reported.
BVB is probably an issue in the Premier League
But FC Barcelona is apparently not the only club that has Moukoko on their radar. “fichajes.net” also recently brought the Premier League clubs Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC, Brentford FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers into play as possible buyers.
“We know about Youssoufa’s qualities,” said Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic at the press conference on Thursday.
Moukoko was missing from the Borussia squad in the 1-0 win in the Bundesliga against Werder Bremen due to a thigh strain. If the center forward does not take on a larger role in the coming weeks, the rumors about a possible farewell are unlikely to stop.
