A motorist was seriously injured on Schooneveldeweg in Koekange last night at 00:50 after a one-sided accident. On a slight curve, the car left the road and crashed into several trees.
The driver was freed from the vehicle by the fire brigade and was then taken to hospital with serious injuries, a spokesman for the Drenthe Safety Region said.
An air ambulance was called in so that the Mobile Medical Team could provide assistance. Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
