A motorist was seriously injured on Sunday evening at the intersection of Baroniebaan and Bredaseweg in Tilburg. The driver hit a light pole next to the road around 10 a.m. and then hit a tree at high speed.
The driver was trapped in the car after the crash. The co-driver ended up in the back seat due to the impact, but he was able to get out of the car on his own.

The fire service freed the driver. Due to the seriousness of the situation, an air ambulance was called. The victim was then rushed to a hospital.
Police are investigating how the crash could have happened. The Baroniebaan was closed to traffic from Bredaseweg to Gilzerbaan for a while.
