The driver of a car ambulance, a trailer with which cars with breakdowns are transported, has died in an accident on the A4. The driver is believed to have collided with the back of a truck this evening.
The accident happened near the Hoofddorp-Zuid exit in the direction of Leiden. Several lanes were closed, which quickly caused significant delays.
The road is still closed for investigation. Traffic from Amsterdam to The Hague will be diverted via Utrecht. Rijkswaterstaat expects the road to be open again around 10 p.m.
Police are investigating how the accident happened.
