The motorist was injured this morning in an accident involving a car and a truck on Molenweg in Slootdorp. The impact caused the car to spin on its axis and eventually come to a stop against a bridge. The truck driver was not injured.
According to a witness, the car came from Nieuwesluizerweg around 10.45 am and wanted to cross Molenweg. The truck would not have given way to him.
The driver is an 80-year-old man from the municipality of Hollands Kroon. He was examined at the scene and did not require hospitalization. Initially it was thought that the driver was trapped, but this turned out not to be the case. The traffic accident analysis is investigating the accident. The road was soon clear again.
Accidents have been occurring regularly at intersections of Nieuwesluizerweg and side roads lately. In May last year, for example, someone hit badly injured in a collision between a car and a truck. Last November Three people were injured when a car with a trailer and a delivery van collided.
