A motorist was injured this morning in an accident at the intersection of the Balkenweg with the Europaweg Zuid in Assen.
Around 7 a.m. the victim drove into a traffic sign and then came to a stop in a ditch. A van with a trailer was also involved in the accident.
Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene and removed the driver from the car. The injured motorist was taken to a hospital. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The Balkenweg is therefore partially closed.
