A motorist in Veldhoven had an angel on her or his shoulder. Just before a tree on Sterrelaan falls, a car drives underneath. “He probably didn’t even realize it,” Dianne Blankers told Omroep Brabant. She filmed it from her living room.
“I felt like I had to walk to the window and start filming.” That turned out to be a bull’s eye, because at that exact moment one of the trees in front of her door falls. “The driver just drove on,” she says. “He probably doesn’t even realize he went through the eye of the needle.”
Congratulations to the municipality
Dianne called 112 but there was no answer. An hour and a half later, the emergency center called back. The tree was long gone by then. “Within fifteen minutes the tree was off the road. Tonight it was sawn into pieces. Congratulations to the municipality of Veldhoven!”
