A car was hit by another car in Ospeldijk on Monday evening. After the collision, the other driver took off at full throttle and left a mess.
It took place at the Meijseledijk with the Moostdijk around 19:30.
Against lamppost
According to a correspondent on site, a car wanted to turn on the Meijeelsedijk from the Moostdijk. A car coming from Meijel and driving on the Meijelsedijk at the same time hit the rear of the car coming from the Moostdijk. According to the correspondent, the car came to a stop against a lamppost. The impact ripped the post completely out of the ground and broke it in two. The parts ended up in the garden of local residents.
Abandoned
The occupants of the other car were said to have left the scene of the accident at high speed. The driver would then have left his own badly damaged car behind.
The vehicles, both of which had significant damage, were recovered by a salvage company. It is not known if anyone was injured.
