On the Sloophoosweg in the outskirts of Sint-Oedenrode, a motorist left the road for unknown reasons and collided with a tree. The car came to a stop a few meters further down the roadside. The engine block of the car was thrown from the vehicle by the impact.
Emergency services turned out en masse. The ambulance service took care of the motorist after he was removed from the car by the fire brigade. Police also closed the road to traffic. The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The road was littered with debris and the vehicle was heavily damaged.
