Yesterday, at the end of the morning, a man was arrested in a collision between a car and a bus in Emmen and taken to the station. It concerns the 29-year-old driver of the car. The resident of Emmen has been arrested for allegedly stealing the car.
The collision on Jules Verneweg caused extensive damage to both vehicles. No one was injured.
According to the police, the man would have stolen the car from a car company in Emmen. He would have hit a picnic table before he collided. He then wanted to overtake and hit – the relatively new – city bus.
After the man in the ambulance was checked for his injuries, he was taken to the station. Blood was taken from the man to see if he had used alcohol or drugs. The man is still in custody.
