A motorcyclist was injured this afternoon in the center of Assen after a chase with the police. He collided with a lamppost on Stationsstraat and was injured.
After the motorcyclist ignored a STOP sign from the police, the pursuit was started. During that chase, the motorcycle driver was also hit by a police car.
The motorcyclist fled from the police because he did not have a driver’s license. In addition, a breath test showed that he had drunk too much. After he fell, he was treated on the spot by paramedics and eventually taken to hospital.
