A 53-year-old motorcyclist from Waalre crashed on the Onze Lieve Vrouwedijk in his hometown on Wednesday evening. That happened around a quarter past six. The accident is said to have happened after the motorcycle tried to overtake a car.
At the same time, the car in front of him also overtook a car, causing them to collide, a 112 correspondent said. Then the man on the dirt bike hit a tree and a lamp post. The motorcycle eventually ended up in the ditch next to the road.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called, but the assistance was to no avail. The motorcyclist died on the spot. The road is closed for investigation.
