Pecco is happy with the Misano podium: “I struggled a lot because I was pushing only with my arms and in the end I’m satisfied.” The Pramac Spaniard: “I’m not a Factory rider and therefore I don’t have that responsibility or pressure. Now I’m having fun”
There Ducati dominates the San Marino GP, placing three riders on the Misano podium. As in Sprint Racevictory a Jorge Martinwhich moves to 36 points from Francesco Bagnaia, third and still at the top of the World Championship. Stoic Bagnaia, after a race of great suffering. “I wanted to have a good race for the fans, but halfway through the GP I was destroyed, but I’m happy with the result obtained – his first words -. I tried to overtake Jorge, but I lacked speed in some points and I struggled a lot because the pressure on the front went through the roof. Not being able to use my legs, I rode pushing with my arms, I tried not to be overtaken by Pedrosa and in the end I’m satisfied. The tests? I’ll rest, today I took some painkillers and I won’t go down on track tomorrow.”

Jorge Martin, with his second success of the season, talks about his feelings: “It was one of the most physical races of my life: I couldn’t escape, Bagnaia was always close, but at a certain point I realized he was struggling and so I pushed braking like in qualifying. The margin didn’t increase because Bezzecchi was close, but I still managed to manage until the end. And then Valentino Rossi’s compliments gave me a great boost (laughs ed.)”.

Martin then focuses on his growth in 2023: “I studied the information from last year: now I can think of always winning, this is my mentality”. The World Championship, however, does not seem to be Jorge’s objective: “I don’t think about it, I’m not a Factory rider and therefore I don’t have that responsibility, or pressure: now I’m having fun, I’m taking risks while I can and for the moment I have to enjoy this season”.

Great second place for Marco Bezzecchi on the Ducati VR46: “I gave everything I had: when I overtook Bagnaia the front tire began to breathe again, but Martin had already escaped. I wanted this podium for myself and for the fans – he tells the microphones – and thanks to the adrenaline of the race I felt better than yesterday. I knew that as the laps went by I would feel pain in my hand, I did a bit of elastic with Bagnaia in the first laps and when I overtook him, the bike started to run very well.” There is only one small regret: “I forced a braking point and avoided the crash, but I lost time. It’s the only regret of the race. Martin, however, proved to be the strongest.”
