Motocross racer Jeffrey Herlings second on Argentina return

Motocross racer Jeffrey Herlings from Oploo has finished second on his return to MXGP. The two-time world champion in the premier motocross class missed all of last season due to a broken heel.

In the Grand Prix of Patagonia-Argentina, the opening race of the season, the Dutchman immediately took the podium again on his KTM. Herlings only had to tolerate the Spaniard Ruben Fernandez in front of him.

Before the race, Herlings said that he did not want to go all out right away and that the first races in MXGP will be about building up. But despite his intentions, he successfully reported back to the front.

He finished fourth behind Spaniard Jorge Prado in the first moto. In the second moto, Herlings finished second behind Fernandez. It was Fernandez’s first win in MXGP.

Brian Bogers was seventh of the participating Dutchmen. Glenn Coldenhoff finished fourteenth.

The second game is scheduled for March 26 in Italy.
