Motorcycle racer Marcel Schrötter just missed out on a top ten finish in the Moto2 race in Misano Adriatico, Italy.
One day after the announcement that he would no longer drive for the German Liqui Moly IntactGP team in the 2023 season, Schrötter finished eleventh in the maiden victory of the Spaniard Antonio Lopez.
Starting from twelfth position, he lost touch early on. He also received a so-called long-lap penalty for exceeding the track limit several times. But it played into his hands that numerous rivals fell and didn’t even finish.
Whether Schrötter will remain in the middle world championship class by switching to another racing team is not yet certain, said the Upper Bavarian. “We recently emphasized that the Superbike World Championship could be an issue,” Schrötter said on Servus TV.
