Moto2 rider Marcel Schrötter underwent successful surgery at the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona. This was announced by the German racing team on Wednesday afternoon. Schrötter is already on his way home and plans to drive in Qatar next weekend.

“After the operation, Doctor Mir came to me and was very satisfied with the operation. Originally they had planned to use a plate to fix it because the fracture consisted of smaller parts,” reports Schrötter, who fell during the test drives in Portimao and sustained a fracture of the small external metacarpal.

“But in the end everything could be done with two screws, which is positive. I really hope now that I can start in Qatar. That’s my firm goal,” emphasizes the Moto2 veteran, who underwent surgery on Tuesday.
