Motley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx tweeted a picture from a Los Angeles studio, writing that they were working on new music and were going to the “big studio” soon. Also pictured are drummer Tommy Lee and new guitarist John 5.

“The creative process of songwriting has always been the heartbeat of our band. We’re going to go into the big studio next week and record some songs and see where that goes. We don’t have a final plan yet, we just let the songs guide us,” wrote the 64-year-old the next day intelligence service.

The last time the group released an album was “Saints of Los Angeles” in 2008, at that time still with all founding members. In February of this year, the glam metal band announced that lead guitarist Mick Mars was retiring for health reasons and would no longer be able to play live. He is replaced by Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5.

Their joint starts in May world tour with Def Leppard. They also come to Germany and Switzerland: on May 25th a concert in Mönchengladbach, on May 27th in Munich, on June 3rd in Hanover and on June 27th in Thun, Switzerland.
