Rick Brandsteder’s mother confirms that a drinking problem is the reason he entered rehab. “Sometimes it goes well and sometimes he really goes all the way.”
Rick Brandsteder is in quite a slump. Embarrassing videos leaked over the summer showing him drunkenly drifting across an airport, and apparently juice Yvonne Coldeweijer opened his eyes. He was caught last week by a spy from Shownieuws on his way to a rehab clinic in South Africa.
To the hole
At first, Rick denied the news to the program, but later decided to confirm anyway. He did not want to say what the reason for his admission is, but most drug rehabilitation programs involve alcohol or drugs.
Rick’s mother, Yvonne, now confirms in Story it’s a drinking problem. “Rick is there because he sometimes drinks too much. Sometimes that goes well for a long time, then he doesn’t drink anything, but then he goes to the hole again. He had had enough of that. He contacted the clinic himself.”
28 days
It looks like Rick is taking it pretty seriously as he’s throwing quite a chunk of money at his rehab program. The clinics in South Africa are generally very expensive. “Rick has been there for a week now and will stay there for 28 days,” says his mother.
Is she currently in contact with him? “Rick is happy to be there. We occasionally have telephone contact. He is doing well, he is working hard on himself.”
