There is an enormous amount of (micro) plastic floating around in our seas and oceans, partly from the waste that people leave lying around. The plastic soup has now become so large that it affects the coral reefs, endangering birds, fish and many other sea creatures. Mother-of-pearl robotic fish may offer some solace, or so their inventors hope.
