Mother of ‘kidnapped’ Italian girl leads police to the body of her 5-year-old daughter after questioning Abroad

Elena Del Pozzo had just turned five when she disappeared yesterday. The girl’s mother filed a complaint with the police about the kidnapping of her daughter. The woman claimed that her child had been abducted from the school gates by three unknown men.

Police said the woman’s report was “not very credible,” Italian media reported. For example, the report only followed a while after Elena was abducted from her school.

It was decided to question the mother before looking for other suspects. The woman was questioned last night until she eventually led police officers to her daughter’s body herself. The site turned out to be only a few hundred meters from Elena’s house. “We are currently collecting statements to find out exactly what happened,” the local police said.

The harrowing story was set in Catania, the second largest city in Sicily.
