The robbers who paid surcharges on the Paasberg in Amersfoort on Sunday night deliberately sought out the residents of the building. It is still unknown how they got into the house, but once inside they did not shy away from violence. A 55-year-old woman and her son (24) were injured.
In the night from Sunday to Monday, several criminals arrived at the courtyard in the new residential area of Vathorst around 2.30 am. They entered the building and got into a fight with two residents.
“We do not assume a burglary, but really a robbery,” said police spokesman Ellen de Heer. “With a burglary you try to work undisturbed and that was not the case here.”
During the confrontation in the home, a 55-year-old woman fell hard and injured her arm. Her 24-year-old son was also injured so much that an air ambulance was called. They were both transported to hospital by ambulance.
“We are now checking everything and also taking Friday night’s robberyin the same district, “said spokesman Ellen de Heer. “It is still too early to say that there is a connection.”
