‘Most wanted’ Ostend citizen arrested in Dominican Republic

Emmanuel R. was known in our country for scams and fraud, but fled the country many years ago. He eventually ended up in Romania, where he bought raw materials through China to produce synthetic drugs. It would involve 11 tons of ecstasy pills, with a street value of 60 million euros. Emmanuel R. was arrested in Romania in 2013, but was eventually able to leave the country. He fled to the Dominican Republic. He has now been arrested there, thanks to cooperation with the local police. He has since been extradited to Romania.
